NTRA TODAY IN THOROUGHBRED RACING HISTORY
February 3
- 1989 Jockey Nate Hubbard hung on for 2nd when his horse, Sweetwater Oak, stumbled at Golden Gate and flipped him out of his saddle. As Hubbard tumbled, he grabbed onto the filly’s neck and hung in mid-air until the finish. It was ruled an official finish.
