- 2012 The Maryland Racing Commission voted unanimously (7-0) to change Secretariat’s official winning time in the 1973 Preakness Stakes from 1:54 2/5 to 1:53 after a careful investigation of the 1973 running. The revision meant that Secretariat set stakes records in each of his Triple Crown races, and all still stand today.
