Theskyhasnolimit captures Iroquois Stakes
By Byron King   Daily Racing Form, November 01, 2009

Theskyhasnolimit can no longer be considered a morning glory. After disappointing his connections with a pair of losses in graded stakes this summer in New York, the quick-breezing colt broke through with a stakes victory Saturday, winning the $120,800, Grade 3 Iroquois in decisive fashion.

Allowed to rate farther off the pace than usual, Theskyhasnolimit followed the eventual runner-up Uh Oh Bango on the turn, and proved superior in the stretch, drawing off to a one-length victory and covering a mile under Shaun Bridgmohan on a fast track in 1:37.36.

Race Comments: SASSY IMAGE within striking distance off the inside, was patiently handled on the turn after moving to a forward position, split rivals near the stretch then finished well to be clear late. DECELERATOR forwardly placed from the start, moved closer five wide midway through the turn, responded in the stretch but lodged only a mild bid for the place. ALL DUE RESPECT close up from the start, moved up three wide late on the turn, took over with a furlong to go and held on gamely. VIVID COLORS set the early pace off the inside, responded willingly when headed with a half mile to go, battled into midstretch and weakened. TIDAL POOL within striking distance, raced six wide on the turn and lacked a rally on the outside. VERTICAL VISION within striking distance, raced in traffic late on the turn, steadied in upper stretch after angling out a bit then had no late bid. BIORRA far back for a half, raced four wide into the stretch and could not menace. TIZ MIZ SUE forced the pace from the rail, gained a short lead with a half mile to go, held on well to the stretch and tired. ALL ABOUT ANNA forwardly placed three wide, gave way. JODY SLEW outrun off the inside, could not menace. RUNNING BRIDE was no threat along the inside. HAPPY WEEK within reach early, raced near the leaders four wide late on the turn, steadied in upper stretch and stopped.
