Theskyhasnolimit captures Iroquois Stakes
By Byron King
Daily Racing Form, November 01, 2009
Theskyhasnolimit can no longer be considered a morning glory. After disappointing his connections with a pair of losses in graded stakes this summer in New York, the quick-breezing colt broke through with a stakes victory Saturday, winning the $120,800, Grade 3 Iroquois in decisive fashion.
Allowed to rate farther off the pace than usual, Theskyhasnolimit followed the eventual runner-up Uh Oh Bango on the turn, and proved superior in the stretch, drawing off to a one-length victory and covering a mile under Shaun Bridgmohan on a fast track in 1:37.36.

| Race Comments: THISKYHASNOLIMIT in hand for a half, moved up in that path on his own on the turn, gained a short lead with a furlong to go and edged off late. UH OH BANGO within striking distance, raced five wide into the turn when moving up, challenged approaching the stretch and held on gamely to be second best. SOARING EMPIRE forwardly placed four wide, was in close midway through the turn then went evenly late. GLEAM OF HOPE outrun early, moved out four wide leaving the turn and improved his position in the drive. THREE DAY RUSH close up three wide, challenged on the turn, gained a short lead approaching the stretch, held on well to the final furlong and tired. CALL SHOT forwardly placed along the inside, tired. DUBLIN reserved off the inside, angled out for the drive but failed to respond. BRASSY BOY was outrun. OH CHARLIE BOY forced the pace off the inside and faded. RAGING WIT set the pace inside, held on well to the stretch and gave way. |
