SEPTEMBER ON-TRACK AND ONLINE NHC CONTESTS

Surfside Race Place will be conducting its next series of NHC qualifiers this weekend, September 7-9.  The Friday mini tournament will be followed by a two-day contest.  Click here for Surfside Race Place contest information.

Horsetourneys.com will be conducting NHC Qualifiers on September 8,16 and 22.  The entry fee has been lowered to $135 for the September 8 contest!  One NHC berth will be awarded per every 60 entries purchased.

NHCQualify.com is hosting online qualifiers September 9 and 29.   A maximum of five NHC berths will be awarded in these $160 one-day qualifiers.  Register now!

Horse Players Qualify is conducting the last two Players Challenge qualifiers on September 9 and 15.  The final event will be held on September 28-29.   For more details on the Players Challenge and a schedule of Players Challenge qualifiers click here.

The Kentucky Downs Turf Handicapping Challenge is set for September 15.  Three NHC spots and $15,000 in cash prizes will be up for grabs.  The entry fee is $150.  The handicapping challenge is going to be held on the marquee day of the Kentucky Downs meeting, which features the running of the Grade III, $200,000 Kentucky Turf Cup.  Contact Bill Flesher at billflesher@kentuckydowns.com or 270.586.6667.

Emerald Downs is hosting an NHC qualifier on September 23.  One NHC berth will be awarded.  No NHC points will be allocated at this contest since sites must award a minimum of two NHC spots to award NHC Tour points.  Click here for contest details.

GULFSTREAM PARK TO HOST LAST CHANCE/FIRST CHANCE QUALIFIER IN JANUARY

Gulfstream Park will be hosting the very first “Last Chance/First Chance” NHC Qualifier on Eclipse Awards weekend, January 19-20.  The top two finishers will receive NHC berths.  If the player has already qualified to the 2013 NHC the berth will be awarded to the 2014 NHC.  If he or she has not qualified to the 2013 NHC the spot will be granted to the January 25-26, 2013 event.  Airfare and hotel accommodations to the Finals will also be awarded to the top two finishers.  Click here to book your room at the Hampton Inn-Hallandale at the preferred NHC player rate.  Contact Mike Nyman at michael.nyman@gulfstreampark.com for more details.

CONGRATULATIONS SOVEREIGN STABLE ON A SUCCESSFUL SARATOGA MEETING

NHC sponsor Sovereign Stable won two races, finished second three times and showed twice to finish seven out of eight times in the money at the recently concluded Saratoga racing meeting.

DRF NHC TOUR PLAYER AMAZING STATS

Can you imagine qualifying for the NHC 10 or more times?  We have group of ladies and gentleman that have accomplished this feat.  You may recognize some of these names; Sally Goodall, Trey Stiles, Robert Bertolucci, Paul Shurman, Bill Shurman, Rich Nilsen, Richard Goodall, Judy Wagner and Louis Constan.  Mike Mayo has qualified nine times and is working to make NHC 14 his tenth appearance at the Championship.

DAILY RACING FORM NHC TOUR LEADER BOARDS

Judy Wagner (New Orleans, LA) is still leading the second-half of the DRF NHC Tour with 4,727 points.. Paul Parker (Norcross, GA) is in second place with 4,479 points. Mark McGuire (Newbury, Park, CA) amplified his first-place lead on the full Leader Board with a first-place finish in the September 2 NHCQualify.com contest.  He now has finished first in three NHC contests this year earning him $10,000 in bonus money.
