When packing for a trip don’t hurt your back hauling around your overstuffed suitcase, but also avoid forgetting important items by under packing.

Bring the necessities and keep a few things in mind when deciding what to bring and what to leave at home.

Grab an old race ticket and make a packing list. Knowing exactly what you are going to pack, forces you to do the dreaded laundry before the trip and drop off your favorite dress or suit to the dry cleaners in time.

Plan outfits that mix and match to reduce the number of items filling the suitcase and base outfits off of shoes that can be worn on or off the track and for various activities and styles.

Shoes are typically the biggest and heaviest part of your wardrobe inside a suitcase, and you will thank yourself later for minimizing the number of pairs that tag along.
