We’ve all had that moment – the one where we pull our favorite chic dress from the back of the closet (because, of course, we’re saving it), effortlessly throw it on and run out of the house feeling more confident than ever. This is where we make the mistake – not in being confident, but in being too trusting of that effortless feel. We recognize that mistake the second we see photos of ourselves – the outline of our legs visible through the dress, a slight pink shade showing around our chests, some polka dots peeking through on our behinds. Indoor lighting can be a tricky and deceitful thing. Always wear a slip and/or shapewear if you have any doubt, and always, always, always check your angles in different lighting situations. What looks covered in the mirror in your bedroom will show through when the bright sun shines down or the flash of a camera goes off in your direction.
