Adam Freifeld is Vice President of Corporate Communications at NBC Universal. A 25-year television industry veteran, Freifeld previously served as Vice President of Communications for NBC Sports Group, where he was a spokesperson and communications strategist for many of NBC Sports Group’s highest-profile properties, including the Triple Crown, Olympics, Sunday Night Football, Major League Soccer, French Open and Wimbledon. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Freifeld lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Jane Harnick, and daughters Roxie and Mabel.

How and when I was introduced to Thoroughbred Racing:My grandfather used to take me to Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Fla., when I was a kid (started at about 6 yrs. old)

My favorite Thoroughbred racing event: The Kentucky Derby
Other sports/teams I follow: All of them. Most passionate about the Mets and Jets. New fan of the Nets since they play down the street from my home.
What I would like to see more of in Thoroughbred Racing: Cashing winning tickets!
What I would like to see less of in Thoroughbred Racing: Stories about how the sport is dying. It is far from a dying sport… just look at NBC’s audience figures for the Triple Crown races.
3 words that define what Thoroughbred Racing means to me: Majestic. Exciting. Trifecta.
First Thoroughbred track I ever attended was: Gulfstream Park
Favorite All-time Thoroughbred: Calidoscopio. Love that 10-year-old horse!
My personal best moment in the sport of Thoroughbred Racing: Picking Mine That Bird to win the 2009 Derby at 50-1. Calvin was winning ALL DAY.
Best racetrack food can be found at: Any track’s Jockey’s Room- especially the crab cakes at Pimlico and the Mexican food at Santa Anita
My favorite jockey: My friend Gary Stevens
My favorite trainer: D. Wayne Lukas
My favorite person in Thoroughbred Racing to have dinner with: NBC reporter Kenny Rice every Friday of Preakness week at Aldo’s in Baltimore - and pastrami lunch on Friday of Belmont with The Blood-Horse’s Lenny Shulman and his friends in the grandstand at Belmont
My philosophy on life: Be nice to people. It works.
