Two-Minute Lick - Mike Repole

As a teenager growing up in Middle Village (Queens), N.Y., Mike Repole would quench his thirst for racing and gambling action by either jumping on a bus to Aqueduct or by running to his favorite Off-Track-Betting facility on Grand Avenue. Repole actually named one of his horses "Run to Grand Ave" in honor of his beloved OTB.

A leading owner on the New York circuit, Repole now comes to the racetrack with a much larger bankroll then he once did, having sold his company Glaceau, maker of Vitaminwater and Smartwater, to Coca-Cola for $4.1 billion in May 2007.

Repole’s blue and orange racing colors (not coincidentally the colors of the New York Mets) will be on display in the Kentucky Derby atop Overanalyze, winner of the Arkansas Derby.
