  • Lug

    Frankie Lovato Jr. explains the term lug and how it refers to the movement of the horse. He also explains the reasons why a horse lugs and the difficulties it creates for the jockey.

    Retired jockey Frankie Lovato Jr. describes the two meanings of the word lunge in and out of horse racing. He describes the two types of exercise the term lunge refers to and the physical movement of the horse associated with the term.
