The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) announced today that The Herald…Graphic Communications, Marketing Solutions has entered into a sponsorship agreement with NTRA Advantage. Under the terms of the agreement, “The Herald” will act as an Official Supplier to the NTRA through 2010 and will offer the equine industry savings of up to 20% on its products through the NTRA Advantage program. The Herald has also made a contribution to the NTRA Safety and Integrity Alliance as part of its new relationship with the NTRA and NTRA Advantage.
The Herald is headquartered in New Washington, Ohio and was established in 1881 as The Herald Printing Company, Inc. The company provides printing, marketing, mailing, fulfillment and Web-based, online storefront services to a wide range of industries, institutions, agencies and markets throughout the U.S. and Canada.
“Our company prides itself in combining state-of-the-art technology, old-school craftsmanship and world-class customer service to respond to our customers’ needs.” said Bob Tarr, Director, Sales and Marketing for The Herald.
“We see becoming an Official Supplier to the NTRA as an opportunity for The Herald to not only broaden the base of major industries it services but also to have the chance to help promote safety for both the jockeys and the horses via its participation in the NTRA Safety and Integrity Alliance.” said Dave Stump, President of The Herald.
“We are delighted to welcome The Herald to the NTRA Advantage Program,” said Terry McElfresh, Senior Vice President of NTRA Advantage. “Their participation significantly strengthens the collective buying power of NTRA Advantage and allows us to generate even more savings for the horse industry. And their support of the NTRA Safety and Integrity Alliance further demonstrates The Herald’s commitment to Thoroughbred racing.”
NTRA Advantage delivers substantial cost savings—through local dealers—on products and services from its Official Suppliers. Value-added services are also available through NTRA Advantage, including employee training in equipment operations and usage surveys that help buyers develop a long-term buying strategy based on equipment needs and the timing of their purchases. To date, NTRA members have saved more than $60 million through the program. Other NTRA Advantage Official Suppliers include Sherwin Williams, John Deere, UPS, Toshiba, Office Depot, Hallway Feeds, Equine Travel Advantage and Moxie Equestrian.
The NTRA is a broad-based coalition of horse racing interests consisting of leading thoroughbred racetracks, owners, breeders, trainers and affiliated horse racing associations, charged with increasing the popularity of horse racing and improving economic conditions for industry participants. The NTRA has offices in Lexington, Ky., and New York. NTRA press releases appear on the NTRA web site, NTRA.com.
