The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) announced today that Sherwin-Williams has renewed its sponsorship agreement with the NTRA. Under the terms of the agreement, Sherwin-Williams will continue as an Official Supplier to the NTRA through 2011 and will offer the equine industry savings of up to 40% on its products through the NTRA Advantage program.

The Sherwin-Williams Company, established in 1866, is a global leader in the manufacture, development, distribution and sale of coatings and related products to professional, industrial, commercial and retail customers. The company manufactures products under well-known brands such as Sherwin-Williams, Dutch Boy, Krylon, Minwax, Thompson’s WaterSeal and many more.

"We've enjoyed our relationship with the NTRA and will continue to foster growth with our partnership," said Al Lewis, Region Director, National Strategic Accounts for Sherwin-Williams. "The NTRA continues to look for ways to explore new opportunities with its partners."

"We are gratified that, even in these difficult economic times, companies such as Sherwin-Williams see the significant value and sales results generated through a relationship with NTRA Advantage," said Terry McElfresh, Senior Vice President of NTRA Advantage. "Whenever a member of the industry uses NTRA Advantage, a portion of sales proceeds goes to support NTRA programs for marketing, advertising, television and legislative and regulatory advocacy, which improves the economics of horse racing and breeding. So in addition to realizing significant savings on your purchases, you are supporting the companies that support racing."

NTRA Advantage delivers substantial cost savings—through local dealers—on products and services from its Official Suppliers. Value-added services are also available through NTRA Advantage, including employee training in equipment operations and usage surveys that help buyers develop a long-term buying strategy based on equipment needs and the timing of their purchases. To date, NTRA members have saved more than $60 million through the program. Other NTRA Advantage Official Suppliers include John Deere, UPS, Toshiba, Office Depot, Hallway Feeds, Equine Travel Advantage and Moxie Equestrian.

The NTRA is a broad-based coalition of horse racing interests consisting of leading thoroughbred racetracks, owners, breeders, trainers and affiliated horse racing associations, charged with increasing the popularity of horse racing and improving economic conditions for industry participants. The NTRA has offices in Lexington, Ky., and New York. NTRA press releases appear on the NTRA web site, NTRA.com.
