ARCADIA, Calif. - For trainers John Gosden and Todd Pletcher, the post position draw for this year's $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf went exactly like last year. Only Gosden hopes the race goes the same way.

Gosden won last year's Juvenile Turf here at Santa Anita with Donativum, who broke from post 4 while the Pletcher-trained Bittel Road checked in eighth after being forced to break from post 11.

In Saturday's third running of the Juvenile Turf, Gosden will send out Pounced, who drew post 4 while Pletcher saddles Interactif, who - you guessed it - got stuck in post 11. With a short run to the first turn, an outside post can be compromising.

Interactif, who is 2 for 2 on turf, demonstrated the ability to come from well off the pace in the Grade 3 Bourbon at Keeneland, so jockey Kent Desormeaux may employ those same tactics on Saturday in the one-mile race. Interactif was installed as the track's 4-1 morning-line favorite, followed by Pounced at 9-2.

Pounced won a maiden race in England in his second start, stalking another horse. In the Grade 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp, he set the pace before being run down by Syouni, a highly regarded colt owned by the Aga Kahn.

"There was no one who wanted to go to the lead, so I told the jock if you want to go to the lead go to the lead," Gosden said of that Oct. 4 race at Longchamp.

Frankie Dettori, who won the Juvenile Turf aboard Donativum, will climb aboard Pounced for the first time in the Breeders' Cup.

Viscount Nelson, a son of Giant's Causeway who was beaten three-quarters of a length in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster, drew nicely in post 2. His European form suggests he'll be in a stalking position under jockey Johnny Murtagh. He is the 6-1 third choice on track handicapper Jon White's morning line.

The Juvenile Turf drew an overflow field of 14. Only 12 will be permitted to run. From the rail out, the field is: Zip Quick, Viscount Nelson, Codoy, Pounced, Gallant Gent, Awesome Act, Bridgetown, King Ledley, Kera's Kitten, Becky's Kitten, Interactif and Buzzword. The also-eligibles are Dean's Kitten and Summer Movie.
