- 2008 Australian jockey George Moore died in Sydney, Australia at the age of 84. Moore, who retired from the saddle in 1971, won a record 119 group I races and began riding at the age of 15.

WHAT WE DO.
The mission of the NTRA is to increase the popularity, welfare and integrity of Thoroughbred racing through consensus-based leadership, legislative advocacy, safety and integrity initiatives, fan engagement and corporate partner development.
